Each year, the New York City Department of Transportation partners with community groups to present Weekend Walks – multi-block neighborhood events on commercial streets temporarily closed to vehicles and opened to walking and other activities. Once again, Chinatown Partnership and the Coalition for Asian Pacific Americans, will be celebrating Asian American & Pacific Islander Heritage Month in Manhattan’s Chinatown, along historic Mott Street, between Canal & Worth Street. With the upcoming presidential election in November, this year’s theme will be on voter registration, and the importance of the APA community’s voice. Come spend the day with us, full of music and dance performances, learning about APA community organizations, making new friends, and having fun!
Weekend Walks / APA Heritage Celebration will happen along Mott Street, at 221 Canal Street, all the way down to 2 Mott Street. For more information, please refer to www.explorechinatown.com
